Introduction: Most popular snack - a mixture of various vegetables are boiled, mashed and cooked with a spicy masala and served with butter fried pav.


  • Mashed potatoes                         4
  • Tomatoes chopped                      4
  • Onions chopped                          2
  • Green capsicum chopped          1
  • Green peas - half cup
  • Ginger chopped                           1
  • Garlic  chopped                           8 -10 cloves
  • Oil                                                 4 tbs
  • Green Chillies chopped            3
  • Pavbhaji masala                        2tbs (u can get that in any indian supermarket... we have Mustafa mall in Singapore) 
  • Salt as per your taste
  • Butter depends on you i use 4 tbs
  • Pav                                             4
  • Fresh Coriender                    1/2 cup
  • Lemon                                     cut into half


 Boil green peas in salted water till soft, drain, mash lightly and set aside. Grind ginger and garlic to a fine paste. Heat oil in a pan and add three fourth quantity of onions. Saute till light brown. Add green chillies and ginger-garlic paste. Stir-fry for half a minute. Add half the quantity of tomatoes and cook on medium heat for three to four minutes, stirring continuously or till oil separates from the masala. Add capsicum, mashed peas,  potatoes and one and half cups of water. Bring it to a boil and simmer for ten minutes, pressing with back of the spoon a few times, till all the vegetables are completely mashed. Add Pavbhaji Masala, salt and remaining tomatoes. Cook on medium heat for two minutes, stirring continuously. Heat half of the butter in a thick-bottomed pan or a tawa. Slice pav horizontally into two and pan fry in butter for half a minute, pressing two or three times or till pav is crisp and light brown. Garnish the bhaji with chopped coriander leaves, remaining butter and serve hot with pav accompanied with remaining chopped onion and lemon wedges.

Paneer Chilli



Introduction: This delicious dish is an Indian adaptation of a Chinese recipe! It makes for a terrific snack!


Oil                                                       3tbs
Garlic Crushed                                6 cloves
Onion Chopped                               1 medium
Green Chilli slit                               4
Capsicum                                         1 big
Cornflour                                         3 tbs
Paneer(cottage cheese)                1 cup (you can get paneer cubes in super market)
White Pepper powder                  one or two pinch (depends on your taste i use two)
Salt                                                   as per your taste
ajinomoto                                       one pinch 
(Personally i never use ajinomoto u can use it to enhances the flavor) 
Chilli sauce                                     2tbs
Soya sauce                                      2tbs
Vegetable stock                             1cup (u can use normal water also)
Cornstarch diluted in water      1tbs
Vinegar                                           1tbs or less
Spring onions chopped for garnishing



Take cornflour in a bowl add paneer cubes to it and fry it in a wok. Keep that paneer aside. Now take another wok add oil to it let it be hot then add crushed garlic saute till golden. Add green chillies, onions, capsicum don't fry veggies too long it should be crunchy. Now add fried paneer to it add white pepper, salt, ajinomoto, chilli sauce and soya sauce mix all fast. Now add vegetable stock or water and diluted cornstarch mix well add vinegar garnish with spring onions and your paneer chilli is ready.


1)If you want paneer chilli gravy add more vegetable stock and if you want paneer chilli dry then add less vegetable stock. 

2)If you are not having vinegar try using lemon

You can have it as a starter or have it with rice or noodles it tastes yummy.
