BEAUTY AND FASHION

I think beauty comes from many things, and makeup is there to help you feel prettier and give you the confidence to strut your amazing self down the street.
Its a powerful tool of transformation.

Basic Principles

Know your skin Type

To determine your skin type you will need one facial tissue paper,  try this test early in the morning when you just woke up.

  • NORMAL SKIN

If you skin belongs to a normal type, the tissue will not reveal any traces of oil. Your skin should feel vibrant, elastic, and supple. Normal skin is the least problematic type.

  • DRY SKIN

If your skin is dry, the paper will be clean, too, but your face skin will feel flaky, dry, and tight after you have wiped it.
Dry skin can easily develop a sallow tone, wrinkles, and fine pores, and it is very prone to aging and irritating.

  • OILY SKIN

If you have oily skin, the paper will have spots of facial oil on it, corresponding to the areas of your cheeks, nose, and forehead. Oily skin is problematic – it usually looks greasy, thick, coarse, and shiny, has enlarged pores, and tends to break into acne.

  • COMBINATION SKIN

If you skin is combination, like that of most women, the tissue will have traces of oil coming from your nose and forehead, but will be clean in the areas that touched your cheeks.

  • SENSITIVE SKIN

Sensitive skin is usually very dry, tends to feel tight, and becomes inflamed and irritated easily. Typically, sensitive skin develops reddish and scaly areas, can be itchy and tingly, and is prone to breaking into spots. It is the most problematic and fragile type of skin, which needs a very special type of care.

How to choose foundation

The foundation is a cosmetic applied after putting on the makeup primer. The foundation covers up all the small blemishes on the face. It evens out the skin tone and hides wrinkles and large pores. This cosmetic is applied before applying all the other makeup products because it serves as the base where other cosmetics can set on to.

Types of foundation

1)Liquid foundation
2)Cream foundation
3)Cake foundation
4)Waterproof foundation
5)Mineral Foundation
6)Spray foundation

Foundation and skin types

If your skin is oily, use oil-free liquid or powder foundation. They contain powders that absorb oil, leaving you with a matte, smooth finish, Mineral makeup often works well on oily skin, because the dry particles absorb moisture,  If you're prone to breakouts, use a foundation that contains salicylic acid. "It dries up the oil-producing glands that cause pimples.

If you have combination skin like mine, strategically apply a powder foundation, which allows you to distribute more of the oil-absorbing makeup where you need it and less where you don't, without leaving visible lines (as a liquid or stick foundation would).

If you're a novice, try a powder foundation that's right for your skin type. "It's the easiest to apply, and it disappears into the skin more easily than liquid formulas, foundation in a compact (which is great for dry complexions). It melts into the skin like a liquid, but because it's a solid and applied with a sponge, it's easy to control.

Problem: After a hug, it looks as if my face has come off on my husband's suit jacket.

Solution:
Press a naked velvet puff to your face after applying foundation. It will help absorb any excess and push the foundation into the skin. Or you can use a puff or brush to apply a light veil of translucent powder, which will set the foundation.

Personally I am using L'Oreal True match and it works amazing on my skin.  Right now if you see my vanity its all L'Oreal True match. I love this products, blends easily n no visible lines.

Test for Foundation

The foundation that you must use should correctly match your skin color. To test for the matching foundation, apply it on your jaw line n not on your hands and see if the color matches the skin color on the neck.
Hope this will help you to find right foundation for your skin type.
